Battery Cycle
One full charge and discharge of your Samsung battery
A battery cycle is one complete charge and discharge — from 100% to 0%, or the cumulative equivalent (e.g. two charges from 50% = one cycle). Most Samsung Galaxy batteries are rated for 300–500 full cycles before capacity drops noticeably. Every cycle causes permanent, irreversible capacity loss. Understanding cycle count helps evaluate how much battery life a second-hand Galaxy has left.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
Heavy Samsung users in Singapore can accumulate 1–2 full cycles per day, reaching 500 cycles within 18 months. At that point battery health has dropped enough to affect daily use noticeably. Always check cycle count before buying a second-hand Galaxy — a low-priced phone with 600+ cycles will need a battery replacement almost immediately.
