USB-C Charging Port

The physical connector used to charge your Samsung Galaxy

All modern Samsung Galaxy devices use USB-C for charging and data transfer. The port fails from lint buildup in the connector, physical damage from dropping while plugged in, corrosion from moisture, or simple wear from thousands of insertions. If your Galaxy only charges at a specific angle, or intermittently, the port’s solder joints have likely cracked or the contacts are worn.

Why It Matters For Your Repair

A USB-C port fault is frequently misdiagnosed as a battery problem. The key difference: a port problem is cable or angle-dependent, while a battery problem affects all charging methods equally. Always try cleaning the port with a toothpick to remove lint before assuming a hardware fault. If fast charging suddenly stops but the phone still charges slowly, the port’s power delivery pins may be damaged.
