Fast Charging
Samsung’s high-wattage charging standard
Samsung’s fast charging delivers 25W on standard Galaxy S models and 45W on Ultra models, compared to a standard 5W charge. If fast charging stops working with the original Samsung charger and cable, the issue is usually the USB-C charging port, a failing Power IC on the logic board, or a third-party cable that doesn’t support Samsung’s fast charge protocol.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
Fast charging requires the USB-C port’s power delivery pins to be fully functional. Partial port damage — where normal charging still works but fast charging doesn’t — is a common symptom of a port that is starting to fail. Always test with the original Samsung charger and cable first before diagnosing a hardware fault.
