Touch IC

The chip processing all touch input from your iPhone screen

The Touch IC is a chip on the iPhone logic board that processes the raw signals from the digitiser layer and converts them into touch coordinates iOS can use. When the Touch IC fails, the result is ghost touch or complete touch failure — even after a brand new, confirmed working screen is fitted. This is a board-level microsoldering repair, not a screen replacement.

Why It Matters For Your Repair

Touch IC failure is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed iPhone faults. The screen looks perfect and a new screen doesn’t fix it — because the fault is on the board, not the screen. Touch IC issues are especially common on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (“Touch Disease”) and after water damage on any model. A proper diagnosis before parts are ordered saves significant time and money.
