Ghost Touch
Screen registers taps you never made
Ghost touch is when an iPhone screen registers touch inputs that you didn’t make — apps open on their own, text is typed randomly, or the screen scrolls without contact. It is caused by a damaged digitiser, a poor-quality replacement screen, moisture inside the display assembly, or a faulty Touch IC on the logic board.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
Ghost touch that starts after a screen replacement usually means a low-quality panel was used. Ghost touch on an original, undamaged screen after a drop usually points to the Touch IC on the logic board — a board-level repair, not another screen replacement. Always insist on proper diagnosis before parts are ordered.
