Touch IC

The chip that processes all touch input from the screen

The Touch IC is a chip on the Samsung logic board that processes the raw signals from the digitiser layer and converts them into touch coordinates the operating system can use. When the Touch IC fails, the result is ghost touch or complete touch failure — even after fitting a brand new screen. This is a board-level repair, not a screen replacement.

Why It Matters For Your Repair

Touch IC failure is commonly misdiagnosed as a screen fault. The key diagnostic: if ghost touch or no-touch persists after a confirmed working replacement screen is fitted, the Touch IC is the culprit. This requires microsoldering — replacing a small chip on the logic board — not another screen.
