Ghost Touch

Screen registers taps you never made

Ghost touch is when a Samsung screen registers touch inputs that you didn’t make — apps open on their own, text is typed randomly, or the screen scrolls without contact. It is caused by a damaged digitiser, a poor-quality replacement panel, moisture inside the display assembly, or a faulty Touch IC on the logic board. Common on Z Fold inner screens from crease stress.

Why It Matters For Your Repair

Ghost touch that starts after a screen replacement usually means a poor-quality panel was used — the digitiser layer is inferior and picks up false inputs. Ghost touch on an original screen after a drop points to the Touch IC on the logic board. These are two very different repairs with different costs — make sure your technician diagnoses the root cause.
