Screen Burn-In
A permanent ghost image etched into your AMOLED panel
Screen burn-in is a permanent ghost image on an AMOLED or Dynamic AMOLED panel caused by prolonged display of static content. Navigation bars, keyboard outlines, status bar icons, and social media toolbars are the most common causes. Burn-in is irreversible — the organic pixels have physically degraded. The only fix is screen replacement. Not covered by Samsung warranty.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
Burn-in is one of the most common reasons Samsung users seek screen replacements on phones that are otherwise fully functional. Singapore’s outdoor brightness settings accelerate AMOLED pixel degradation — users running screens at maximum brightness for extended periods degrade pixels faster. Samsung’s Adaptive brightness feature helps reduce this risk.
