Power IC
The chip managing all power distribution on your iPhone logic board
The Power IC is a chip on the iPhone logic board that manages power distribution to all components. It controls charging from the charging port, manages voltage delivery to the CPU, GPU, and display, and monitors the battery. A faulty Power IC causes no charging, no power-on, or abnormal battery drain — even with a confirmed working battery and clean charging port.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
Power IC failure is a board-level microsoldering repair. A skilled technician can replace just the Power IC chip for significantly less than a full logic board replacement. If a shop tells you the board needs to be replaced due to a charging fault, always get a chip-level second opinion first — the Power IC may be the only failed component.
