LDI
Liquid Damage Indicator — the sticker that confirms water damage
An LDI (Liquid Damage Indicator) is a moisture-sensitive sticker inside the iPhone that permanently changes from white to red or pink when it contacts liquid. Technicians check the LDI as one of the first steps when diagnosing any iPhone fault — a triggered LDI immediately confirms liquid exposure has occurred and voids Apple warranty. Singapore’s tropical humidity can sometimes trigger it without a direct spill.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
A red LDI means Apple will not cover any repair under warranty, even for faults unrelated to water.
