IMEI
Your iPhone’s unique 15-digit identity number
The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit number identifying every iPhone. Dial *#06# to find it, or check Settings → General → About. Used by carriers to block stolen phones from networks, and by Apple to verify warranty status. Always check IMEI before buying a second-hand iPhone — it reveals if the phone is stolen, carrier-locked, or has an active iCloud Activation Lock.
Why It Matters For Your Repair
A blacklisted IMEI means the iPhone cannot connect to any carrier in Singapore — even after a perfect repair. An iCloud locked IMEI means the phone is activation-locked to a previous owner’s Apple ID, making it unusable as a phone. Always verify IMEI on Apple’s check tool or a carrier’s IMEI checker before purchasing a second-hand iPhone in Singapore.
