Hard Reset
Force restart your iPhone — no data lost
A hard reset (force restart) clears the temporary memory and restarts the iPhone without erasing any data. On iPhone 8 and later: press and release Volume Up, press and release Volume Down, then hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears. Always try this first for a frozen, unresponsive, or sluggish iPhone — it takes under 10 seconds and loses no data.
Hard Reset vs Factory Reset
Hard Reset
Force restart only. No data erased. Always try this first.
Factory Reset
Wipes all data. Only use as a last resort.
