Recovery Mode
Samsung’s boot state for factory reset and cache wipe
Recovery Mode is a Samsung boot state that provides options for factory reset, cache partition wipe, and system update installation — without needing Android to load. Access it by holding Power + Volume Up when the phone is off. Use it when Android boots but behaves erratically, or when apps won’t load after a failed update. It does not reinstall Android firmware — use Download Mode for that.
Recovery Mode vs Download Mode
Recovery Mode
Factory reset, cache wipe. Android still partially intact.
Download Mode
Full firmware flash via Odin. Used when Android is completely broken.
